A gym app MVP costs $2,000 to $5,000. Or use the one we already built.

A gym member app MVP for iOS and Android costs $2,000 to $5,000 with us and takes 3 to 5 weeks. A full gym platform with staff, member, and trainer apps and a web dashboard is scoped after a call. A member app plus a staff dashboard is two builds. Adding the two ranges gives $6,000 to $13,000 as a planning figure from our rate card, not a quote. A platform the size of GymFast is more than that, and we price it only from a written scope.

Every price on this page is our own rate card, in US dollars. The minimum project is $1,500. A dedicated developer is $1,500 to $2,000 a month. Hire engagements start with a risk-free first week, and you own the code, repositories, and cloud accounts from day one. Indian clients are invoiced in INR by Acasa Labs (OPC) Private Limited. What drives the cost of a gym app

We know these from building GymFast. Each one is a real piece of work, and each one moves the price.

  • Who the app is for

A member app, a staff app, and a trainer app are three different apps with different screens. GymFast has all three. A first version usually needs one.

  • Roles and locations

Owner, manager, trainer, front desk, and member each see different things. Several branches multiply it. GymFast enforces six role levels in the database.

  • Reminders and automation

Renewal, payment, class, and session reminders, plan expiry, and enquiry follow-ups. Running these on a schedule, reliably, is a meaningful part of the build.

  • Workouts and diet plans

Plans with sets, weights, and rest times, workout logging, and saving an in-progress session on the device so a dropped connection does not lose it.

  • Branding

An app in your gym's own colors, or a white-label app for many gyms, which needs theming from one setting.

02

Build a custom gym app, or use GymFast

GymFast is our own gym management software. It runs members, membership plans, invoices, expenses, classes, attendance, and enquiries in a web dashboard and a staff app. Members get a branded app for QR check-in, workout and diet plans, and invoices. GymFast Pro gives independent trainers the same tools for their clients.

If that covers how your gym works, using GymFast saves you the build entirely, and you can start this week. Go to gymfast.app to see it.

A custom build makes sense when your gym's model is different: a chain with its own membership rules, a fitness product sold to consumers, or an app that has to connect to equipment or a system GymFast does not. In that case we build it, and we already know where the hard parts are. We compare the two in detail in our custom vs off-the-shelf gym software guide.

Example builds

The gym software we built.

GymFast is our own product, live in the App Store and Google Play. Here is what went into it.

  • Three apps and a dashboard on one backend

    GymFast

Separate Expo apps for staff, members, and trainers, plus a Next.js web dashboard, sharing one Supabase backend and a token-authenticated mobile API.

  • Automation that runs without a server

    GymFast

Scheduled edge functions send every reminder and handle plan expiry and auto check-out, so staff stop chasing renewals.

  • Permissions in the database

    GymFast

A six-level role hierarchy, from owner to member, enforced with row-level security rather than in app code, and per-gym brand colors that theme every app from one setting.

How to spend less on a gym app

  1. 01Try GymFast or another existing gym app first. If it fits, you do not need a build.
  2. 02Start with one app, usually the member app or the staff app, not all three.
  3. 03Pick one core feature for members, such as check-in and workout plans, and add classes and diet plans later.
  4. 04Use one codebase for iOS and Android.
  5. 05Launch at one location, then add multi-location once the workflow is proven.

04

When a cheaper option is the better choice

For most single gyms and studios, off-the-shelf gym software is the better choice. GymFast is one option; there are others. You start right away, and someone else keeps it updated.

For a personal trainer with a handful of clients, a trainer app such as GymFast Pro, or even shared spreadsheets and a messaging app, may be all you need for now.

Build your own when the app is the product you sell, when your membership model does not fit standard software, or when you run enough locations that the per-location fees outgrow the cost of owning the software.

Questions

Gym app cost, asked often.

How much does it cost to build a gym app?

With us, a member app MVP for iOS and Android costs $2,000 to $5,000 and takes 3 to 5 weeks. A full gym platform is scoped after a call.

Yes. GymFast is our own gym management platform with staff, member, and trainer apps. If it fits your gym, there is nothing to build.

Tell us what you need that GymFast does not do, and we will tell you whether it belongs in GymFast or in a custom build.
